109 miles; Two dusty river crossings; 7500+ riders; That is the annual El Tour de Tucson.
Yesterday I finished this race in 5 hours 24 minutes at an average speed of 20.3 mph (which includes 1 stop to refill water bottles). The top women was 4 hours 54 minutes...so I've got some work to do. I'm pretty happy about my time...because I finished with a Platinum metal; which means I earned a VIP start next year. Next year? Oh man, this race hurts. I hurt. My head hurts. My shoulders hurt, yet I'm feeling pretty good today...

7500 riders? 109 miles? Wow - bravo Picard. Treat yourself to one of those uber-expensive Thai massages and a POM juice. :-)
