Training Mode

I'm serious again...
Its training time as I'm going to be doing some serious racing this year. Not just any ol' racing...but stage racing and I'm really excited. People who are good at stage racing are "all-arounders." Just like Lance, I've got to focus on my time trialing. Fun!

My Jammy

Landed back in Miami last night.
It was 79 and sticky. I plopped into my hotel room. Austere, except for this funny little series of framed post cards from the 40's. There was one post card with a scribbled message to a family in Hallendale, Florida. It was signed Mae and Fred Picard. Now you know my name isn't like Smith, in fact open the phone book and you may see one or two of us (unless you find yourself in Quebec). I suddenly felt at home.

Seattle Stickers (encore)

I've said it before but I just love reading Seattle bumper stickers. I've been in the Pacific Northwest for 10 days and here is the sampling of a few more...

Courage, Truth, Grace, Wisdom & Balance

A good friend gave me this bracelet. I have some amazing friends. The bracelet has the words..."wisdom, courage, truth, grace and balance" that are scripted around. All meaningful words.

In that light...
I was asked what I want to do with my life yesterday. Yeah...I could say make a difference, yet we all desire that in some way. I said, "I want to create wonderful urban experiences that engage people to live in a more meaningful way." I want to be an urban artist where people engage, respect and are drawn to the very spaces (courage and truth). I want peoples lives to be richer as a result(grace and wisdom); an intensity of compassion for nature and humans that must co-exist (balance). Is that too much to ask?

Moving Like a Jellyfish

I just landed back in Seattle; ready for the big game (I like hundreds of thousands of people have instantly become a fan of our beloved Seagulls, I mean Hawks). My travels to Miami were exhausting as usual. I have a couple of stories to tell...that are so Miami. You can read them by clicking here. Here is a picture of me enjoying the victor Hotel (just a day or two ago).
The hotel theme is jellyfishes and if you look carefully even the lights on the headboard are projecting floating jellyfishes; cool. The lamps are jelly fishes (glowing) AND the fortune cookie left beside my bed at turndown service said...
