Rode HARD

This past week I took ONE marvelous day off. I biked with two team mates from Seattle (Kit and Deb). We biked hard. We rode hard. We peddaled hard. Get the picture? Starting in Green Valley, we biked up to Madera Canyon (3K feet climb) then out to Arivaca (total of 95 miles and 5K feet of climbing). We ate at Cafe Poca Cosa (YUM!) then I slept really good that night. Purrrrrrrrfect!

Sky Harbor

I'm sitting in Sky Harbor airport waiting for my plane from Phoenix to Tucson. It's a puddle jummper (you know those flight that have no middle part - just reaching 10K feet then starting your desent). Well, I found this picture of me with some new Gucci spectacles. I guess Miami Beach has had some affect.

Me Producer

Okay I've spent the last week in Seattle working with the Tinderbox guys on producing a video for play time at our big event at the end of the month. The movie below is the rough cut (before any special effects and glossy words, etc.). I think the storyboard is very hot. Check it out.

78 going to 34

New Alaska plane and the pilot comes on over the PA just before we are to depart Miami today..."Good Morning ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard Alaska Flight 17 with service to Seattle. Our Flying time is 5 hours and 50 minutes where the current temperature in Seattle is 34 degrees." (zoom forward 3 hours in route) - "Hello again from the flight deck, we are about 1500 miles from Seattle, where the temperature is...uh...still 34 degrees." Its odd going from 78 degrees to 34 degrees in just 6 hours. It must put the body in some kind of shock. Any how...great flight, fast, smooth and quiet (just like my men - kidding).

Am I losing it?

Have you ever done something so outside yourself that you actually stop and say..."am I losing it?" Well yesterday was one of those days. I arrived exhausted to my hotel (sanctuary) in south beach late last night. I jumped in my car the next morning as the valet pulled it up to the curb...only, it wasn't my car. Hmmmm does a red ford taurus look much like a grey kia? No. Well, the worst part is that I drove this to my first meeting of the day and got a call from my assistant (about 3 hours later) who got a call from Hertz, who got a call from the hotel. Upon heading to lunch...getting into the Ford, I realized the car is SO different that I had to ask..."am I losing it?"

Living on Lemmon

I was asked what brings me joy last night at dinner. The FIRST thing that came to mind was feeling the brisk morning air, seeing the dusty, warming sunlight of the Tucson morning as I feel every beat of my heart gliding my carbon fiber Merckx up Mount Lemmon. I hear the birds, smell the flowers, feel the canyon breeze on my face. It connects me. It allows me to feel God's creation. I felt this joy EVERY day this past week. What a blessing! (the image is a painting by William Hawking - a Tucson artist and a piece I own - its Pusch Ridge - back side of Catalinas with Magritte clouds).

Charlie's Angels or Miami Sales Team?

Okay...is this funny or what? I asked my sales team in Miami to give me a group picture for the owner's newsletter and this is what I got. Those Miami Beach people kill me. Who owns a white suit? I guess in Miami its like gortex in Seattle.
More "candid" shots to follow when I head to the beach next week for our big video shoot; where we specifically requested models that are "without alteration" and believe me that is hard to find.
